I’m Eric – Software Engineer

Hello there! I’m Eric Howard.

By day, I proudly wear the hat of a software engineer for Team Cymru. My academic journey led me to the UCF School of Engineering, where I graduated in 2016 with a degree in Computer Science. While I have dabbled in various facets of software engineering, my concentration lies in backend systems. This is the arena where I feel the real magic of software unfolds!

As a full-stack engineer for different projects and companies, I’ve been fortunate to work with an array of cutting-edge tools and technologies. Some of the staples in my tech stack include Python and Golang. I am also well-versed in k8s, Docker, and a plethora of tools designed specifically for sculpting distributed backend systems and APIs. I genuinely believe that the right tools, combined with a spirit of curiosity, can lead to revolutionary products and ideas.

But work is just one slice of the pie! In my free time (yes, engineers do have that once in a while), I immerse myself in furthering my knowledge. Learning more about software engineering principles, exploring new tools, diving deep into fresh languages—it’s all part and parcel of my ongoing journey in the vast universe of software engineering.

This blog serves as a digital repository for all those tidbits, insights, and eureka moments. A place where I can host, share, and reflect upon the myriad of things I encounter and learn.

Whether you’re a budding engineer, a seasoned veteran, or someone just passing by out of curiosity—welcome! Dive into my posts, share your thoughts, and let’s embark on this ever-evolving journey of software engineering together.

Thanks for dropping by, and happy coding!
